Archery Setup and Config information:
=====================================
Archery is an easy game to set up. All you really have to do is install
it and away it will go. It has a lot of options that you can configure
ranging from how many shots the users get, to what the starting high score
will be. Below you will be told about all the options and what each one
does, and where it can be found. If you are real familiar with Major BBS
you might want to dive in and check the game out. If not I would suggest
that you read onward.
If you would like to purchase Archery please read the GWWORDER.TXT
file in your BBS directory.
REMEMBER : This game supports FULL RIP & ANSI graphics!

OPTIONS :
=========================================================================
Under Option 3, security and accounting:
----------------------------------------
ARREG : This is where you will type the registration number you get
from GraphicWares. The game will only be playable on Channel
0 [local mode] until you get atleast the demo key. This key
will let you have a fully functional game running for a little
while. If you want to see the game in RIP a way you can do it
is as follows: Log onto your BBS system as the sysop using
RIPterm from another computer. Then log on via the main system
with 'F7' [local log on] under another alias. Then with your
sysop account go into remote sysop functions and emulate channel
0. This will let you take control of channel 0, and let you
play the game in RIP. If you didn't quite follow that you can
feel free to give us a call and get your DEMO key, or FULL
Registration key. Prices and Info will follow.
GDEMO : You set this function to either Yes or No. If you only want
to only let the people with the following key to enter the game
then set this to YES. If you want everyone to be able to play
then set this key to NO.
DEMO : If a user doesn't have this key they can not win the jackpot.
They will just get the non credit msgs, and they will not be
charged. Under Option #4 you can configure if non paying users
get on the high score list. If you don't want them to be able
to play set GDEMO to only allow users with this key to play.
Under Option 4 :
----------------------------------------
GCASH : Y/N option. This just lets the game know if you want to give
away credits when someone wins. Winning consists of beating the
highest score in the game.
ARCASH : If you are going to give away credits this will be the
starting jackpot value.
ARCIN : This will let you increase the jackpot by x amount everytime
someone plays the game. You can set a base jackpot and the set
this to increment that jackpot, or you could set the jp to 0,
and just use this value.
ARCHRG : Y/N option. This lets the game know if you want to charge the
users to play the game. If they don't have enough credits for a
game it will notify the user.
ARCHPG : This is the amount the users will be charged per game.
Usually you will have this option set with ARCIN. ie if you
wanted 20% of every game goto the progressive jp you would set
this to 100, and ARCIN to 20. Note ARCIN is not a percentage
it is an amount the jackpot will increase by, just as this is
an amount the user will be charged.
APPLY : Do you want to apply charges to your credit exempt users?
[y/n] Set this to yes if you have a lot of credit exempt users
on your system, and you would like to charge them to play for
credits.
NOHIGH : Allow non paying users to get onto the high score list.
[y/n]. Anyone without the key under Option #3 will not be able
to get on the high score list unless you set this option to YES.
If you set it to no, only users that play for credits will be
able to get onto the list.
ARROWS : This is how many arrows the user will get per game.
ARHIGH : Before you play the game set this to what you want the high
score to start out at. The default is 10000. We would suggest
that you play a couple of games to get the feel of it and to try
and figure out what a fair score would be. To reset the high
score list at anytime just copy the file GWWARROW.VIR over the
file called GWWARROW.DAT. Only do this when your BBS is down
not while it is running. If you don't the current high score
list will remain the same. It is only loaded at boot up, and
then saved out at shut down.
RESETKEY : People that have this key will be able to use the reset
command to reset the game. Only give this key to users that
you want to have the ability to reset archery. The reset
command is 'R' on the title screen for the game. It will not
appear there, but you will be able to use it.
SAVEDATA : This tells the program how often you want to save the game
data out to the hard disk. If you want the update to only
occur at clean up just set this option to 0. If you want it
to happen more often just set it to a value between 1-30000
seconds. We would suggest setting it for about every hour.
(3600=1hr).
ARSTAT : Setting this option to 'YES' will send a msg to the audit
trail telling you what the game has brought in, and paid out
in the way of credits. This option can only be set if you are
currently charging users to play the game.
ARTELL : Setting this option to yes will put a little note before
posting the msg 'FREE CREDITS POSTED' telling you that someone
got the high score and won credits in the audit trail.
I have found that it comes in handy if I want to track where
the free credits came from. Once again this option can only
be set if you are charging users to play the game.
ARDOWN : If you want the game to put a message in your audit trail
telling you the game has shut down then set this to YES. If you
don't want to know that the game shutdown then set it to NO.
You would really only set this to yes if you seem to be having
problems with the game shutting down. If everything works fine
you will probably want to leave this alone.
